Fellowship in Liver Epidemiology and Patient-Oriented Outcomes Research
This is a one- to two-year training program consisting of hands on training in liver disease epidemiology and patient-centered outcomes research. The fellow will work directly under the mentorship of Rohit Loomba, MD, MHSc.
Program Overview
- Participation in conferences and courses in clinical gastroenterology/hepatology, research methodology, and biostatistics.
- Extensive independent reading.
- Attendance and participation in research seminars within the Division of Gastroenterology and the Division of Preventive Medicine.
- Co-train with the cardiovascular epidemiology T32 training grant fellow from the Division of Preventive Medicine.
- Completion of an independent research project in liver epidemiology.
The program is designed to provide the fellow with:
- In-depth exposure to research techniques to conduct clinical liver research.
- Research experience with mentors in hepatology and epidemiology.
- Interactions with faculty and fellows within the Division of Gastroenterology and other epidemiology training programs in the greater San Diego scientific community.
How To Apply
Applicant Qualifications:
- A medical degree and board eligible in Internal Medicine or Gastroenterology, or
- Exceptional candidates with a PhD or equivalent experience in epidemiology or biostatistics and publication record in epidemiologic research from U.S. or international universities.
- Have a track record of interest in academic medicine.
- Proficient in the English language.
