About Our Fellowship
The UC San Diego Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship that is committed to excellence in patient care, education and research. The fellowship program provides unrivaled clinical and research opportunities for its fellows. During their training, our fellows are exposed to diverse clinical experiences while rotating through a large teritary care referral hospital (UCSD Jacobs Medical Center), a tertiary care Veterans Affairs Hospital (San Diego VA Medical Center), a university hospital which serves as the county hospital equivalent (UCSD Hillcrest Medical Center), a managed care hospital (Kaiser San Diego) and a number of outpatient clinics. Our faculty is dedicated to teaching and is comprised of internationally recognized experts in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatology, Metabolic-Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease, Pancreaticobiliary Disorders, Advanced Endoscopy, Motility Disorders, GI Oncology, and Small Bowel Diseases. The program emphasizes research for both clinical and research fellows and has a strong track record of publications and scholarly activity during fellowship. Mentorship is emphasized with career mentors, endoscopy mentors, and reserarch mentors assigned for all fellows shortly after joining the program.
As the leaders of the fellowship program, our goal for every fellow is to obtain exemplary clinical training, maximize scholarly activity and help individualize the fellowship experience so that each fellow attains their individual career goals. As you explore our website, you will learn about our program, the wealth of opportunities, and the wonderful people (faculty, fellows, administrative staff) that make our program so special.
Thank you for your interest in our program and you can email our program coordinator for more information.
