About The Jung Lab
The Jung lab has been dedicated to identifying how the molecule activin A promotes disease in the GI system for over 20 years. We have found critical roles for activin A in pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, and several other diseases that we are currently investigating. These translational research projects are all aimed at developing novel therapeutics that manipulate activin A signaling in human disease.
Dr. Barbara Jung
“Activin A is an exciting molecule that is often overlooked because of the overlap it has with TGF-Beta signaling. We have found that activin A has the potential to be life-saving in many diseases. Although this signaling system is complicated, we are dedicated to unveiling how activin A differs from TGF-Beta to improve therapeutics available to individuals suffering from a wide variety of GI diseases.”
